The AN320 shear nut is a castellated fastener fabricated from steel and cadmium plated per QQ-P-416A, Type II, Class 3. Designed for aircraft engineers and maintenance technicians, these nuts are used with clevis bolts and threaded taper pins subject to shearing stress only, with slots that accommodate a cotter pin for safety.
